Noah King

My name is Noah King I was 10 years old when I accepted Christ in my heart. The reason I am getting baptized is to let everybody know that I am a Christian and that I have accepted Christ in my heart. My family went through a hard time about a month ago when we took in a child for respite care. He just turned 7 this month and is in 1st grade. We got him because he had a horrible life his mom did not care for him, and they were living in a homeless shelter, and he behaved horribly. My mom Jessi is a substitute teacher at woodland where she met him, and taught him and developed a relationship with him. So we got him because he needed to get away from his mom. Having him in our house made me realize that we are like the boy we are poor we were acting up and horrible and we sin and we had nobody to care for us but God is there for us and he forgives us when we ask for forgiveness through faith in Christ.  A couple of verses that inspire me are: John 3:16 it says “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in Him should not parish but have eternal life”. It inspires me because I know that God loves us so much that He sent His son to forgive us our sins. Another verse that inspires me is in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth the earth was formless and void. The reason I like that verse is because people say that the world was created from lightning strikes. That is definitely not true because it says right there how the earth was created.

Since some of you may not know what baptism is about I would like to start by saying baptism does not save me, only the blood of of Jesus Christ can do that. I’ve been a Christian ever since I can remember, but I hadn’t really thought much about baptism until recently when I applied to be a student leader at the youth group here. One of the questions was “Have you been baptized?” and that is when I was convicted and decided to do this. Thanks to everyone who has attended this church and youth group with me here, it has really helped my walk with Christ.

I am getting baptized today because I want everyone to know that Jesus is My Friend and My Savior.  I want to share Romans 3:23: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” I feel like this verse goes right along with my testimony.  Before I came to know Jesus, I had my own Bible, and I went to AWANA and Children’s Church, but I never came to know Jesus until now. On March 14th of this year, I prayed with my mom about how I knew my sins were wrong and I wanted to confess them. I grew up thinking I knew Jesus but now I truly do. I believe that Jesus came down as a baby and was innocent with no sin. He grew up preaching and He died on the cross to pay for our sins. He was buried in a tomb and three days later He rose from the dead.  I was having a lot of trouble controlling what I said. I’m not perfect, but I’m doing better at controlling my mouth by remembering Matthew 12:34b: Out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.” Now that I am controlling my mouth better, I am finding that I enjoy my family even more!

The reason why I accepted Christ is so I can be free from my sins. 1 John 1:9 says “If we confess our sin, He will forgive ours sins. We can trust God. He does what is right. He will make us clean from all the wrongs we have done.”  God has allowed me to be adopted twice, First by my Mom and Dad and Second by God. It says in Ephesians 1:35 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with every spiritual blessing in the Heavenly places even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be Holy and blameless before Him. In Love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ according to the purpose of His will.” I want to live with God forever and I want to show people Christ, so they can accept Him too.
